Good action movie with not much storyline...would help if you are a fan of the series but this was the first terminator movie iwatched so had to ask frens for some info on the backstory lol

Angels and Demons

alright back to movie reviews!

caught this movie with jefry and hofai. angels and demons was sort of a prequel to the da vinci code. also have not yet read any of these 2 books. however angels and demons was so electrifying isuppose you do not need any background knowledge of the storyline to enjoy the movie. ok on to the review!

Angels and Demons

this is one amazing suspense thriller! in the movie, professor robert langdon was called to rome to help in investigations of some cult and serial murders and the findings lead langdon and his physicist friend, whose own investigations about a missing canister of antimatter from some LHC experiment became intertwined with the mystery, deeper and deeper into a sinister plot. the movie is loaded with plenty of puzzles which langdon manages to solve. alot of suspense is built up during the action scenes as well as during the puzzle solving sequences. the icing on the cake is a shocking doubletwist built into the story! apart from that, a great movie needs a great soundtrack and this movie delivers with sweeping orchestral music. overall, an excellent movie which itink most people would enjoy lol

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

This movie is about, as you should be able to guess, wolverine lol its more of a background story of wolverine and his history...how he got the metal claws and his relationship with sabertooth and other stuff...there were also some parts of the movie featuring the younger cyclops and gambit and some other mutants. being an action movie, there were lots of special effects as well. however even though this movie was shorter than startrek, itink it was slightly draggy at some points. however, it was still a decent action movie with some awesome fight scenes.

Star Trek

idun relli know much bout the star trek universe other than some basic knowledge for example...iknow the main starship they use was the enterprise and also that the story involved humans and some aliens called klingons haha sry if igot any facts wrong lol this movie was a remake and starred among others zachary quinto, who acted as sylar on heroes. the storyline was good but if im not wrong then itink it was more of an alternate plot. the special effects and sound effects were excellent and the pace of the movie was rather fast which suited the movie's genre. nevertheless the movie was still considered long being arnd 2hrs but there was hardly a dull moment in the movie lol

overall, itink it was a great remake and could probably attract new fans to the franchise

this is one of the best action movies so far this yr...the story was quite ok...but this movie excels during the suspense scenes as well as the action scenes...this is one movie where the good guy totally EPIC PWN the bad guys lol

The International

lol watched this movie with wangyi jingwen yiheng before the buffet...not many movies to watch at that time lol so chose this one...

this movie started out rather well, with the main characters trying to stop some bank from selling weapons or smthing...however as the story develops...it becomes increasingly difficult to keep up with the suspense...other than some action scenes, this movie was dragging the story...and when the confounding 'twist' of the movie comes right before the abrupt starting of the credits roll, we knew that we had just wasted 6$ on a lousy movie...

K20: Legend of the Mask

This movie is set in an alternate future in which the war never took place (like the game red alert) and stars takeshi kaneshiro as a circus performer who got mistaken for k20, the legendary superthief lol...to clear his name, he learns the tricks of the trade and uncovers a diabolical plot which must be stopped. Along the way, he saves the princess who joins him on his quest and also gets the help of the righteous police inspector. There is an epic twist during the climax of the movie when the identity of k20 is revealed. Overall, a great jap movie which will not disappoint.

The characters find out that k20's secret plot is to activate a massive tesla coil at the top of a building which would allow him to control the city through threatening the politicians.
Although the audience were led to believe that k20 is a mysterious old man who frames the hero in the circus, that man was actually wearing another mask and the real identity of k20 is actually the police inspector!!!this is truly an epic twist in the movie lol

Love Matters

this is a jack neo directed movie but filmed mostly in msia itink...it has the regular 'jackneoteam' casts for example marklee and henrythia lol...ive to say jackneo movies have gotten better...although his works have been less funny than when he first started directing, there is a stronger story backing the movie...nevertheless, certain moments in this movie are relli hilarious LOL overall a good movie.

Bedtime Stories

this movie is a comedy starring adam sandler. he babysits 2 kids and it turns out that during their bedtime stories, wadever the kids say become fairytale reality for adam the next dae lol and these include stuff like raining candy and sweets. they also have to stop some conglomerate from tearing down their school for a new building. overall a decent movie.

Ip Man

this movie is about ip man, also the kungfu master of brucelee. the fight scenes are relli epic and ip man uses his kungfu style of wingchun to steamroll his opponents. itink he got scratched twice in the movie...one at a chaotic factory fight scene, and another at the 'boss fight' with the general lol...that was relli an epic fight scene with ip man overpowering the general...a perfect definition for pwning lol...

Twilight has a fantasy story set in a modern setting. something to do with vampires...the guy in the poster is the vampire...well...a good vampire...whu tries to control his urge to suck the girl's blood lol...ok inoe there are lots of twilight fans out there...but in mi opinion this movie is straying close to the realm of crapness...itink its coz iwatchd this after watchin ponyo lol...but iduntink it would hav made a big difference to the ratings...the book might be better than the movie...

awesome piece of anime movie!!!the story is set in modern day japan with some magical stuff going on in the oceans. the animation was handdrawn which was very cool coz if im ntwrong most anime nowadaes are not. the background music was great as well...overall, an excellent movie

this movie is about a student in the MIT university who had problems paying sch fees...so when a professor offers him a chance to join his team of professional blackjack card-counting players he joins and earns lots of cash!but after a while greed catches up with the him...and the professor's old enemy tries to stop them in their card-counting tactics...

quite a good movie, one that does not focus on action but on mindgames which is quite refreshing considering the number of action movies being released...the pace of the movie is quite good and hardly slows down...but some parts could get abit boring...

wow this movie review should have been done long ago lol...aniwae...this was one of the more anticipated movies to watch among the neetclub lol...coz we have been watching the trailers alot of times before movie screenings...

GET SMART

basically a comedy, most of the jokes in this movie are very action-based and nonsensical...but of course some of the dialogue is hilarious too...an example is the scene where smart meets the badguy boss in their hideout...and confuses him with basic logic on whether he is 'control' or 'chaos' personnel...LOL...and of course, the phone 'element of surprise' part was quite a laugh too!

the plot is decent and the movie flows along at a moderate pace itink...an extra thing to note is that little special effects have been used...jefry tinks that the trailer had alr shown the movies best parts...haha...but overall itink that this is still a good comedy movie...

before watching this movie...idint tink that kungfu panda would be such a good cgi movie haha...

synopsis
the main character of the movie, po, the panda on that poster, is a noodle shop assistant at his father's noodle shop, but at night he dreams of kungfu stuff and martial arts action...so when the kungfu dojo holds a martial arts tournament to select the 'dragon warrior', po had to be at the tournament to find out whu the dragon warrior is...but he, without any training, was chosen to be the dragon warrior!

the animation is good, and the colour scheme fits very well too!bright and cheery!jackblack does a wonderful job voicing po...and the movie brings its point across to the audience quite easily itink...the underlying 'moral of the story' lol...ok and the soundtrack is great...dun relli rmb the soundtrack lol coz its like few wks ago alr but i do rmb that iwas going "wah the soundtrack pro" or smthing liddat lol so iguess its quite good!

hmm dun wan to put up another pic of prince caspian coz theres alr 2 of them in prev blogposts haha...this instalment of the narnia series was quite good...but it focused alot on fighting which, other than the big battle with moving trees and the water elemental, is rather stale...but the duel before the big battle was exciting...ok wun spoil too much of the movie haha...

Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

INDIANA JONES: KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL

this movie very often makes use of references to the previous indiana jones movies...as such it might be better, although not necessary, to arm yourself with some background knowledge of indiana jones if you havnt watched the other movies in this series...

harrison ford is indiana jones again, back in his same role. the story is about russian agents going after mysterious artifacts and they forcefully abducted indiana jones, bringing him into a US military base to help them find the artifact. ok cant describe too much here or it will become spoilers lol...

the movie's postproduction gives it a unique 'retro' movie look that is fitting to the show, and the soundtrack is rather 'retro' as well...lol

Speed Racer

yeah movie reviews again!

this review is about speedracer the movie, which according to hofai n jefry was adapted from an anime called speedracer...

ok lets get the review going!

this movie has a retro feel to it due to the bright colours and contrasts, which itink suits the movie very well...the story is about speed racer, yeah thats the main actor's screen name, not his job...speed racer is a racer too, and his dad's company, racer motors or smthing liddat designs and builds race cars.

ok to maintain the integrity of this blog there shall not be too many spoilers about the movie so spoilers will be limited...

basically the story of the movie is speed racer going up against the large car manufacturers who have the habit to fixing the grandprix competitor position so that they benefit businesswise...very sly eh...but speedracer would not allow himself to damage the integrity of the grandprix so he teams up with an organisation which hunts down unsportsmanship behaviour...mainly of the large corporations since they have the money to 'screw the rules', as kaiba from yugioh would quote...

this show is very value for money as the duration is arnd 2hrs...the racing scenes are very exciting and keeps the audience at the edge of their seats...isuppose...the grandprix race that speedracer participates in is very fierce, and although the show is heavily cg, it gives the movie a cartoony atmosphere that works...trixie is quite pretty although the retro outfit is lol...jefry commented on trixie early on when trixie made an appearance but lol itink trixie is still quite cute la...lol ok another thing is the korean superstar rain whu didnt just play a cameo role in the movie but had quite a large role...this is hilarious coz rain had been dominating the premovie advertisements for the prev months with his advertisements as well as in the movietrailers...however his acting skills are quite good lol...

Iron Man

yeah!another movie review!

watched this movie todae with hofai, jefry, mojo, hoifai, huiren, vincent n evan...the tix were booked after the superhero movie lol so the seats were quite gd!

the thing is...the golden village vouchers cant be used for new movies!?!?very sly ar GV...might as well dun give the vouchers nexttime...or if u relli cant afford to give $2 discount then nxttime give 50cents vouchers la...ok not trying to flame golden village here...will still support ur cinemas coz of the comfy seats...and of course the wonderful gv website that is quite userfriendly...

MOVIE REVIEW

IRONMAN (minimal spoilers)

the movie is about ironman, the hero from marvelcomics...tonystark, of stark industries is famous for making powerful weapons systems...but when he escapes a kidnap incident by building an armoured metalsuit and blasting his way out from his captors' cave, he decides to build a more advanced piece of armoured metalsuit (with supersonic flight capabilities) for saving people...

overall, a very good movie with well-balanced plot...the suit is so cool, and the soundtrack is very fitting...although its mostly rock songs...

Superhero Movie

this is a movie review for the movie called...superhero movie

as u might have guessed alr, its by the makers of epicmovie, and all those wadevermovie spoofs lol

this one centers around the plot of the spiderman movie...so its recommended that u watch it before going for this movie since it draws heavily on the spidermanplot...but the hero is dragonflyman, or as they call it...the dragonfly...

the show itself is hilarious lol alot of nonsense jokes and these jokes are paced quite well...the jokes are also quite high level, similar to the epic movie's 'bodydouble kungfu fight' one...and also the 'get smart' movie's element of surprise joke LOL...

firstly, before the review, mojo plz read below for the review on vantage pt! it was on another post...

ok now for the review of the movie forbiddenkingdom which stars the 2 kungfu movies regular actors jackie chan and jet li...jackie chan plays as 'the drunken immortal' and jet li plays as 'the silent monk'...

this movie is full of action scenes and fight scenes which are not too bad haha...especially the one between jackie and jet...interesting fight scene...the storyline is quite ok...but shuldnt spoil too much of it lol...basically its about this americanguy whus slightly obsessed with kungfu, and onedae he kena bully by ppl and somehow he got sent back to ancientchina with a mission to save the land...

Vantage Point

aniwae lets start with the movie review of vantagepoint...

a very fast paced action thriller...lol with a cool idea for the first hr of the movie...the same 10min scene is repeated 5 or 6times with a different...vantagepoint lol, each story arc unveils more of the plot and develops the story furthur...the linking between the different characters and their story is very strong and this is what the movie shines at. although the movie is at 90mins or so...the pace of the movie is excellent. through the show u would be doing lots of guesswork if u wan to discover the plot, but u would be surprised often coz u would mostlikely have guessed wrongly about the plot...the action scene at the end is fierce lol especially the car chase which makes initial d look like a childish anime...

no offence here...lol

this movie is inventive and exciting...

was with hofai and hasyir at the cathay to catch the JAPAN TOP BOX OFFICE MOVIE evangelion1.0 lol...basically its an anime styled movie...hmm actualli u could call it an animovie!?!?

a very good movie!!!it would amaze u quite often and after watching this iwas wondering why they did not make any gundam movies...lol

the animation is very well done, fluid movements throughout the movie for both the characters and the eva units. the soundtrack is excellent...music used fits well with the storyline and the movie...infact it fits verywell, there were portions of the movie where u would be kept on the edge of ur seat more through the effect of the pounding orchestral score during the colossal battle scenes.

btw only cathay cineplexes are screening this...

if u dunlike mecha anime idun tink u would be interested...if u do then its highly recommended...doesnt matter if u prefer gundam or other mecha titles.

10,000 B.C.

this is a movie review for the movie 10000bc...watched it with jeffrey, mojo, hofai, vincent...pt, liangying n logan watched it too but at another section of the theatre...actualli it was rather impromptu decision for watching movie lol...the outing was an itfair outing...with many pics taken and some would be uploaded soon...

ok the review...might have spoilers

the trailer for this movie was quite ok...shows the main character fight some mammoth elephants with some ornate spear...yup lo-tech tribal setting...

main character is steven strait and camilla belle...

oo ijus discovered a fast way of adding pics into this blog...more pics comin up...

throughout the movie itink the director was trying to lead the viewer to believe that the show involves lo-tech stuff like spears fashioned out of wood and such...but as the viewers watch on...there are many surprises

the movie starts with the tribe having a food shortage and they are in need of more mammoths for food...the main character had won the rights to take the ornate spear n the very pretty girl by managing to bring down a mammoth...then some other tribe came on horses...which seemed to be 4legged monsters...and raided their tribe area...thus began a search for those hi-tech enemy tribe...along the way they encountered other tribes whu also wanted to get back at those horsemen and very quickly a decent army was raised when more tribes joined in...turns out that the main character was the chosen one to lead them against those horsemen...then theres a scene which is rather stunning...the horsemen escapes on ships!?!?and its not rafts but large galleys!the lo-tech tribes people then had to trek across some desert until the reach the place where those horsemen were headed...and they arrived at the building site of a pyramid!?!?most prob the horsemen were egyptians and they even tamed mammoths to use as trucks...the prob is that they were using too many slaves...and too many mammoths...after some skirmishes, the main character n his gang caused a rebellion rather easily...the movie ended quite well...

ok...yahoo movies gave it quite a low score...but this blog?

this is a movie review for MEET THE SPARTANS...went cineleisure with hofai and hoifai todae for this movie lol...as most would know this is a spoof movie of 300 and is very influenced by popculture stuff...makes it quite jumbled lol and theres alot of reused jokes...

Kungfu Dunk

jay chou plays as a martial arts student who plays basketball with some schoolteam lol...popular taiwanese variety host jacky wu makes a cameo appearance at the start, enough to create a few laughs lol. in the show zhoudong (chairman zhou) could shoot hoops with cgi edited perfect accuracy. the movie plays at quite a fast pace and thus leaves out a few plot elements. twins member charlene has very little screenplay...hmm...nt recommended although some of the slamdunks were rather spectacular.

Juno

ellen page plays as juno in this movie. although this is not some blockbuster, i find this movie to be very nice! lol highly recommended. for most of the show the talented ellen page would dominate the screen with her acting and witty speak. michael cera plays as the guy who got her pregnant lol...those who watched the movie superbad would recognize him. in all an enjoyable movie to watch. the soundtrack compliments the show very well too.

Through this blog, I hope that readers will have some idea of what the movie is about (NO SPOILERS THOUGH XD).

I'm no expert in movies and films, so my opinions, on whether I feel the movie is worth watching or not, will be expressed through movie ratings. The movies will be scrutinized! MOVIES BEWARE!
